What we do: 

Our machine safety engineers carry out comprehensive, standards-based risk assessments tailored to the specific machinery or system in scope.

The methodology follows EN ISO 12100 as the Type A framework, applied alongside the relevant Type B standards for generic safety aspects: such as EN ISO 13849-1, EN 60204-1, EN ISO 14119, EN ISO 14120, and others; and any Type C standard specific to the machine, which takes precedence where one exists, such as EN 619 for continuous handling equipment, EN ISO 10218-2 for robot systems and integration, or the EN 415 series for packaging machinery. This grounds every finding in a recognised, defensible methodology and provides a clear path to compliance, following the state of the art by applying EU harmonised standards.

Each hazard is systematically identified and estimated using consistent parameters: severity of harm, frequency and duration of exposure, and probability of occurrence. Each estimated risk is then rated against defined acceptability criteria, so it is clear which hazards require risk reduction and which are already adequately controlled. Where safety-related parts of control systems are involved, we define the required Performance Level (PLr) under EN ISO 13849-1.

Risk reduction then follows the three-step method in the correct order: inherently safe design measures first, then safeguarding and complementary protective measures, and finally information for use for any residual risk that remains. After measures are defined, each risk is re-estimated to confirm it has been adequately reduced, iterating where necessary. The result is a clear, prioritised set of actions mapped to each hazard.

On completion, we review the findings with key stakeholders, work through the technical considerations, and align on next steps. This ensures the outcomes are not only compliant but practical, achievable, and matched to the realities of the operating environment.
