Alpha Machine Safety
Machine Safety
We are a specialist machinery safety and safety automation consultancy, taking machinery from initial risk assessment through to CE marking under a single, accountable partner. By bringing safety engineering and automation together in one team, we give clients a seamless, standards-based route to compliance that reduces project complexity and removes the interface gaps and hand-off risk of splitting the work across
multiple suppliers.
What we do
The engagement begins with risk assessment to EN ISO 12100, where the limits of the machinery are defined and hazards are identified, estimated, and evaluated. It progresses through Safety FEED, where the agreed risk reduction measures are translated into practical, costed safety concepts with defined implementation roadmaps. We then deliver the detailed safety design and lead its implementation, covering functional safety specification, electrical and hardware design to EN 60204-1, safety-related control systems to EN ISO 13849-1, safety PLC programming, and system integration, so that solutions are both compliant and operationally effective.
Rigorous verification and validation then confirm that every risk reduction measure has been correctly implemented and performs as intended, with the achieved Performance Level meeting or exceeding the required Performance Level (PL ≥ PLr) and each Essential Health and Safety Requirement evidenced. This bridges the gap between design and real-world operation, confirming that identified risks have been effectively reduced.
Finally, we support compliance through Technical Documentation and CE marking, building a complete, audit-ready dossier throughout the project that supports the manufacturer's Declaration of Conformity. By managing safety and automation under one partner, we reduce risk, minimise cost uncertainty, and avoid disruption to project schedules
Risk Assessment Report
Following EN ISO 12100, we take your machine from limit definition through hazard identification to effective risk reduction, bringing risk down to an acceptable level in line with the state of the art.
Technical Documentation
A structured, audit-ready dossier developed throughout the project lifecycle, capturing all required compliance documentation and engineering evidence. Finalised at completion to support the client’s Declaration of Conformity.
Safety – Front End Engineering Design Study
A front-end engineering design process that translates identified risks into practical, costed solutions. Each hazard is paired with a defined concept, implementation roadmap, and budget estimate to support informed decision-making.
Safety Design & Implementation
Detailed safety engineering covering functional safety specification, electrical and hardware design, safety PLC programming, and system integration to deliver compliant, robust, and maintainable safety solutions.
Safety Verification & Validation
A rigorous testing and evaluation process confirming that all safety measures have been correctly implemented and perform as intended, in line with standards such as EN ISO 13849 and EN 60204-1.
CE Marking
Get ahead of the new Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230. We provide end-to-end compliance support, from conformity assessment and technical documentation to final CE marking preparation, ensuring a smooth path to your Declaration of Conformity under both current and future rules
Authorised Representative
Non-EU machinery manufacturers need an EU-based representative to place machinery on the European market.
Sitewide Machinery Risk Prioritisation
For sites with dozens or hundreds of machines, the challenge is rarely identifying a single issue. It is knowing where to start.
Benefits of choosing Alpha Machine Safety
Alpha Machine Safety brings risk assessment, safety design, verification, and CE marking together under one partner, giving you a single route from hazard identification to a signed Declaration of Conformity. Contact us to discuss your machinery.
One partner, start to finish
One competent partner from initial risk assessment to Declaration of Conformity, removing the interface gaps and hand-off risk of splitting the safety lifecycle across multiple
suppliers.
Compliant now and beyond 2027
Conformity delivered against MD 2006/42/EC today and aligned to MR (EU) 2023/1230, mandatory from 20 January 2027, so machinery placed on the market stays compliant across the transition.
Signed by qualified engineers
Assessments and technical documentation authored and peer-reviewed by CMSE/CECE-qualified engineers, giving the Technical Documentation credibility under market surveillance.
Built to pass an audit
Structured, traceable documentation built throughout the project, defensible in an audit rather than assembled retrospectively.
The right standards, applied precisely
Practical command of the relevant standards: EN ISO 12100, EN ISO 13849-1, EN 60204-1, EN ISO 14119, EN ISO 14120 and others - applying the requirements that fit the machine, not a generic checklist.
